Home again, home again...

Back from New York, spent several days in the rustic Catskills. Have stowed away my ruby slippers now ('Theres no place like home! - and it doesn't take a tornado to get ye to go!'). Prepping for the Mission Creek Festival here in Iowa City, Music and the spoken word all over the city all week long. Looking forward to hearing some fine words by some excellant writers.
Birthday is on sunday! Can one measure how popular one is by how many 'Happy B Day!'s they get on Facebook? I think not... When you get old you care more about the gathering, then you do about people reminding you that you are, in fact, old...
Thinking about doing a poetry chapbook just for the 'heck of it' (always thought that was a funny phrase!) Presently debating if I want to bind it myself and do all the fabrication. Thought about having a few illustrations, (I don't know...)
Oh yes! By the way, I have decided to open this page for 'Comments'. I want to see if anyone actually wants to comment.  So have at it lads and lassies, I at your mercy!

Preparing to travel east To New York state. Going to go train riding! Yes, one of my favorite things to do. Sadly I only have Amtrak to choose from. The USA is so far behind other countries when it comes to train travel. Henry Ford said he would put a car in every garage (well, not exactly that, but...) and what he was really saying was in the interest of wealthy men making billions, we are going to kill train travel, seriously pollute the world, create a huge need for oil (pave pardise and put up huge parking lots) and then let a few others make billions off of that and, blah blah blah... However I didn't want to turn this into a political blog, but honestly be prepared for nature to take a serious bite out of our collective butts someday soon.
So hoping to finish the last revision on my novel in the very near future, (I actually have three, 2 on the back burner just waiting to be done) then I have to chose between a royalty publisher or an Indie. These days even agents do not accept unsolicited manuscripts. So many of my writer friends who wanted to get their work published have turned to self publishing as the 'don't call us, we'll call you' fence gets higher. POD? No thank you. =o)
