Riddle: What is it that leaves, but never goes away? (sorry, had to throw that in there!)
Okay anyway, the Summer Writing Festival is on its way! Less than a month away now and my first class, Gothic Horror, looms! Sadly, only two days long. :(
Gothic Horror - a genre that has always been the dessert to my literary entrée. Never can seem to get enough of it! Yes, I read the Bronte's - Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and Poe! Oh man! Poe, best to be read on a sunny day in the garden! Than there is H.P. Lovecraft and that which hides in the rustic - The Dunwich Horror. Can't seem to get enough, must have read it at least a 100 times in my entire life. I don't really see myself self as a 'Lovecraftian' because I don't see the sense in delving into the obsessive, but I've have my favorites. Presently I find myself immersed in 'coming of age' stories, utilizing my unique experiences as a boy to create, Sheep Shed, My Summer of Kathy, and Little Red Ducati as well as Snowfall on Dead Leaves. Hoped to be published soon in magazines or as an anthology.
Than there is a serious interest in 'Adventure/Romance' (subgenre of Romance) that has led me to the completion of, 'When Walls Fall Down...' But! My love for gothic horror may take me some place else. Only time (and this upcoming class) will tell.
Slan!
